Why do we learn Talmud? Jews partake in learning the Mishna and the Gemara in a collection known as “Shaas”. It is believed that Shaas gives human beings a window into understanding how God thinks. The Talmud is written in Hebrew and Aramaic and is written in a cryptic way that most books can’t emulate style wise. This is because the Talmud wasn’t originally written down.
