This National Wildlife Day, we’re celebrating the impact wolves have on their ecosystem! When wolves were eradicated from Yellowstone National Park, the elk population grew significantly. Without a natural predator, these elk overgrazed, resulting in a lack of plant growth, other animals leaving to find better habitats, and river banks eroding.
