The Oratory at Brougham Castle The oratory was a small chapel at Brougham Castle which was used for private worship by the castle's occupants. It was added around 1300 by Robert Clifford, 1st Baron Clifford. It is high up in the keep of the castle, it was built during a period where the jeep was heightened, an extra floor was added for private chambers.
