The National Road Safety Council (NRSC) is a statutory body established in 1996 under Section 2 of the National Road Safety Act, Act 9 of 1972. This Act was made applicable to an independent Namibia through Article 140 of the Namibian Constitution. While the NRSC operates with a degree of autonomy, it functions at an arm’s length from the government.
