You’ve probably heard of the Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota. But here’s a fun piece of Sioux City history many people don’t know. Sioux City had the very first Corn Palace. From 1887 to 1891, Sioux City built five Corn Palaces that drew national attention and massive crowds. These weren’t small displays. They were full-scale buildings decorated inside and out with thousands of bushels of corn, created to celebrate agriculture, attract tourism, and showcase a rapidly growing city. The timi
