At age ten, Gloria had to take on the role of a mother, going shopping and keeping house. She found a way to vent out her emotions through tap dancing. She hoped her dancing ability would get her out of Ohio and away from her unfortunate childhood. While she attended high school, she had dreams of becoming a Rockette in New York City.
