German men, certainly professionals and young men, take a lot more care of their appearance than British men - or at least, than typical straight British men. Not just men but in general: don't visit (even good friends) without setting it up.

I am a German man. And someof us don't like foreign girls. But you can find this type of men in every country around the world. Most men I know don't care if a girl/woman is foreign or not. Maybe it can be a bit hard if you can't speak German, but if you learn it, it is ok. But there is one big thing: be active and do the first step.

That being said, two caveats: a lot of Asian communities love to stick together abroad and maintain their culture and language, which is of course more comfortable.

Recently, on a bus from oxford to Cambridge I happened to be seated next to a very attractive German doctoral student. We talked for four hours and the bus and got on together fabulously. When we arrived, I needed to find wifi to contact the person I was staying with, and he offered to take me back to his room so I could connect to the wifi.

But ultimately, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Different people view different things as beautiful. I, as a german man, would view the things you wrote as questionable.

May 7, 2024 · Yeah I think a short sentence in German where you mention that you might communicate in English because you are still learning German is fine. So just have 2-3 different sentences prepared and you are fine. As mentioned men are not used to getting approached by women so that there is no high standard that you need to reach to be recognized 😂
