Paramount Global-owned broadcaster CBS is cancelling The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in a surprise move announced on Thursday.

The end of The Late Show at the end of the 2025-26 season will leave CBS without a late-night presence for the first time since 1993, when David Letterman moved from NBC to launch The Late Show.
