Connor Brown had a goal and two assists as the Edmonton Oilers punched their ticket to the second round of the playoffs with a 6-4 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

The Edmonton Oilers took down the Los Angeles Kings in the first round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, earning their fourth straight series win over Los Angeles. Entering the series, many expected the Kings to finally move past the Oilers, and for the first two games, it seemed like that would happen.

The Kings haven’t won a Game 6 to stave off elimination since 2014. That’s when they beat San Jose in the first round to cap off a stunning reverse sweep after being down 3-0 in the series. They also beat the Anaheim Ducks in the second round after trailing 3-2. That championship year remains their last set of playoff series victories.
