Mayor LaToya Cantrell of New Orleans is expected to appear in federal court for arraignment on September 10, following her indictment by a federal grand jury on August 15. Cantrell faces 11 charges, including wire fraud,

Officials allege she defrauded the city while trying to keep hidden her relationship with a police officer assigned to protect her.

As soon as this week, Cantrell is expected to answer to Friday’s indictment alleging a scheme with her police officer bodyguard to bilk taxpayers and conceal an affair.
