The Iranian-backed Houthi militia in Yemen on Tuesday claimed to have attacked the international airport in Tel Aviv as well as targets in Jerusalem. Houthi military spokesman Yehya Saree said in a televised statement that Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport and an electricity plant in the Jerusalem area had been attacked with ballistic missiles.

As tensions with Israel escalate, Yemen-based Houthi rebels launched a deadly attack targeting Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv and a power station in Jerusalem with a hypersonic missile. Ben Gurion Airport briefly halted operations after missile interception over Israeli skies.

The Houthi rebels announced that they had attacked Israel's Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and U.S. warship in the Red Sea in three different attacks. The rebels said that they first targeted the Ben Gurion airport with Palestine 2 ballistic missile and then a power station near Jerusalem with Zulfiqar ballistic missile.

The Houthis in Yemen launched their fifth missile attack on Israel in a week late Monday, as Israeli officials ratcheted up their warnings to the Iranian-backed group. The Houthis’ repeated attacks show that Israel’s retaliatory strikes and tough talk have failed to deter the group,

The Houthis are far away from Israel and use ballistic missiles and drones to threaten Israel. Hezbollah suffered a drubbing in a two month war from September 23 to November 27, but they are saying that at the end of the 60-day ceasefire that began in late November,
