The NHL Trade Deadline is about seven weeks away and it feels like everyone is dancing to add a center and some scoring.

The Red Wings are currently red hot with seven straight wins and appear to be a likely candidate for one of the Eastern wild card spots. They are two points behind the Blue Jackets for the second wild spot and could overpass them and the cluster of teams still in the race by continuing and prolonging their hot streak with a big trade.

Dylan Cozens is the subject of trade rumors less than two years after the center signed a seven-year contract with the Sabres.

The Red Wings are in need of defensive depth ahead of the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline, and Bowen Byram is a great fit.

That's not nothing, but it's not what caught the Red Wings attention. Instead, Cozens' 31-goal, 37-assist 2022–23 campaign suggests a young player worth bringing in, even after just 47 points a year ago.
