Attorney General Andrew Bailey will resign to serve as a co-deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Bailey, a 44-year-old Army veteran from Rhineland, had never held an elected office before former Gov. Mike Parson chose him in late 2022.

FBI Director Kash Patel fired an agent with the bureau while accusing him of "poor judgment" and "political weaponization."

Jensen, a veteran agent who helped oversee the Jan. 6 investigation from his position as chief of the FBI's domestic terrorism section, was given a significant promotion by Patel to be the assistant director in charge of the Washington Field Office, one of the largest outposts in the country.

Former FBI acting director Brian Driscoll and two other officials forced out of bureau, with sources calling the departures retribution against January 6 investigators.

Comey served as the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 2013 until his termination in May 2017.
