Hurricane Erin is continuing to spin in the Atlantic Ocean, bringing with it life-threatening surf and rip currents along the beaches of the Bahamas, much of the east coast of the United States, Bermuda and Atlantic Canada.

During what he called “one of the biggest weeks” on the Jersey Shore, Gov. Phil Murphy and some of his emergency managers led a group of mayors and county executives of Jersey Shore communities on Tuesday to tell people to stay out of the ocean this week.
