Texas House Democrats who fled their state to stall a Republican redistricting effort returned on Monday, ending their 15-day holdout. While Democrats have vowed to keep fighting, their return allows the House to establish a two-thirds quorum necessary to advance new congressional maps in a push backed by President Donald Trump.

The move will allow Republicans to move forward with their plan to redraw Texas' congressional map ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Texas Democrats have returned to the capitol after breaking quorum in protest of redistricting two weeks ago. They have pledged to continue to fight.
