The US Navy blasted several guided missiles at Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen from a warship in the Red Sea on New Year’s Eve, impressive video shared by US Central Command shows.

The Yemen-based rebels pose a lingering threat, and some security analysts argue that their patrons in Tehran should be in Israel’s crosshairs.

The Houthis, who have been in a strong position in the civil war in Yemen since 2021, have sought to use the window of opportunity opened by the war in Gaza to expand their regional footprint. They are now the only pole of the ‘axis’ standing,
