The Wayne Gretzky statue outside of Rogers Place on March 21, home of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, is covered with excrement after it was vandalized in Edmonton, Alberta.

The fallout was swift. A petition to rename Wayne Gretzky Drive garnered over 14,000 signatures, and a statue of the hockey legend outside Rogers Place was smeared with what smelled like feces.
