A man charged with helping to plan an attack that killed 13 U.S. military members reportedly sat in Pakistan’s custody
The man was apprehended in Pakistan and flown to Virginia to face terrorism charges. Prosecutors say the man admitted to helping plan the Abbey Gate bombing and other lethal attacks.
The White House identified the man as Muhammed Sharifullah, and Trump said he is being brought to the U.S. to face charges.
U.S. officials provided intelligence to Pakistan that led to the detention of Mohmmad Sharifullah, a leader of an Islamic State affiliate. The attack in 2021 killed 13 American soldiers and dozens of Afghans.
