After years of delays in space launches and lagging behind its main competitor, Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos is returning to the playbook that led Amazon to becoming one of the world’s biggest companies: a culture maniacally focused on results.
Jeff Bezos has moved to introduce a tough Amazon-like approach to his rocket maker Blue Origin, as the world’s third-richest person seeks to revive a company that has lagged behind Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
Blue Origin will have an all-female crew that’s traveling into space from the company’s launch site in West Texas. Katy Perry joins a crew that includes Gayle King, Lauren Sánchez, Amanda Nguyen, Aisha Bowe, and Kerianne Flynn, who are launching into space aboard Blue Origin's New Shephard rocket, NS-31.
