The FAA says over the weekend another air traffic equipment outage resulted in a ground stop for arriving flights at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says flights in and out of Newark will be scaled back.
"We continue to urge the FAA to address ongoing staffing shortages," a Port Authority spokesperson told Newsweek.
The Department of Transportation is dispatching an emergency task force to try to fix the problems plaguing Newark Liberty International Airport, including two high-speed, redundant telecom lines that are now up and running.
