As millions of Americans hunker down for the winter storm, 19 states and Washington, D.C., have declared states of emergency.
Roughly a million power outages were reported on Jan. 25 as a massive winter storm raged across the country, bringing "catastrophic" ice accumulation that downed power lines and created treacherous road conditions.
A monstrous winter storm is hitting the tri-state area on Sunday — expected to dump more than a foot of snow in some areas. Travel is becoming a nightmare. A weather event like this makes for perilous driving and travel conditions across the region.
