Ontario Premier Doug Ford said a 25% surcharge on electricity sent to Michigan, Minnesota and New York, will be effective on March 10.

In a post on X, Ford announced that he had sent letters to political leaders in Michigan, New York, and Minnesota, informing them that Ontario could impose a 25% surcharge on electricity exports to these states if the tariffs continue or if additional tariffs are introduced by the Trump administration.
