South Florida saw the indirect impacts of Hurricane Erin. The NEXT Weather team said through Saturday there will be an increased risk of swells, rip currents and higher tides.
Conditions along the Florida coast are expected to deteriorate Wednesday as Hurricane Erin moves north-northwest off Florida.
Erin is also impacting Florida beaches, with large swells and elevated rip current threats continuing. The hurricane will continue to move away from the US today and slowly weaken late week. It is expected to be post-tropical by Saturday.

Hurricane Erin is tracking northwest between the U.S. East Coast and Bermuda, bringing dangerous surf and life-threatening rip currents to Florida and the Carolinas through midweek.
Hurricane Erin moved away from the U.S. on Friday after battering North Carolina’s Outer Banks and deluging other areas of the East Coast. The storm has weakened to a Category 1 as it continues to move towards Nova Scotia in Canada,

As Thursday winds down in Central Florida, a few evening thunderstorms are expected. In addition, the FOX 35 Storm Team is continuing to monitor the dangerous rip currents and surf coming from Hurricane Erin as it passes by the East Coast.
After Hurricane Erin moves out to sea and three other systems fizzle out, the tropics will take a short break. But forecasters warn that it’s far too soon to let your guard down this season.
