The GM in recent weeks inked quarterback Josh Allen to a new deal and has extended wide receiver Khalil Shakir, defensive end Greg Rousseau, linebacker Terrel Bernard, and corner Christian Benford. While he hopes to get one done in the future, Beane gave the impression that the Bills are not planning on a new deal getting done with Cook yet.

Bills GM Brandon Beane described Cook as “a beautiful man” at the NFL Combine in February but added he would “prefer we don’t take the business outside,” referencing Cook’s social media posts. But as the calendar turns to April, the sides still appear far apart on an agreement.

It's no secret that talks between running back James Cook and the Bills have not been going very well this offseason, despite Buffalo Brandon Beane getting a slew of other contract extensions done. And this latest update makes it seem that Cook's time with the Bills is coming to an end sooner rather than later.
