One of the stars of Scream 7 is just as confused as fans are over how the upcoming slasher sequel will resurrect all these dead legacy characters.

Several fan-favorite Scream actors are taking another stab at the franchise. Directed by Kevin Williamson and set to hit theaters on Feb. 27, 2026, multiple characters have been confirmed to be returning for Scream 7 – some from the dead.

When Dewey died, he wasn’t himself. He was a different type of character, one that Arquette couldn’t play effectively and one that wasn’t needed for the story.
