Relatives of the attacker who rammed his truck into a synagogue outside Detroit were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon, a local official said.

The attacker rammed a vehicle into Temple Israel in West Bloomfield and was confronted and killed by security, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said.

It was a situation that Jewish institutions across the United States have trained for, as antisemitism and threats of violence have ticked up in recent years.
