DuPage County Clerk Jean Kaczmarek is threatening a legal fight unless existing bills for her office are paid and the county auditor is no longer involved in approving future invoices.

She called on the county board to pay other outstanding bills from the county clerk’s office. It was not the first time Baird-Watterson publicly appealed to DuPage officials to pay vendors.

Officers were paid $15,000 from 2011-2022 before getting a $1,500 increase in 2023 and this year’s $495 increase, plus the additional clerk pay. The trustees' pay has changed more often recently.
