Israel on Saturday carried out airstrikes in northern Gaza's Beit Lahiya, killing at least nine people, including journalists, and wounding several others, according to Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.

At least nine Palestinians were killed, including two local journalists, and others wounded in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza's northern Beit Lahiya town, Gaza's health ministry said, as Hamas' leaders hold Gaza ceasefire talks with mediators in Cairo.

The first phase of the truce expired on March 1 without agreement on the next steps, although both Israel and Hamas have refrained from resuming hostilities

At least nine people have been killed and several others injured in an Israeli attack in northern Gaza, the enclave’s ministry of health said Saturday, making it the deadliest incident since the ceasefire went into effect in January.

Palestinian medics say Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip killed at least eight people, including a local reporter who was operating a drone. The Indonesian Hospital said it received eight bodies from two airstrikes in the same area of the northern town of Beit Lahiya on Saturday.

Hamas said Saturday it will only release an American-Israeli and the bodies of four other hostages if Israel implements their ceasefire agreement, calling it an “exceptional deal” aimed at getting the truce back on track.
