Thursday night's loss to the Lions makes it very unlikely that the Cowboys will make the playoffs, but quarterback Dak Prescott says he and his teammates aren't going to quit fighting.
Brandon Aubrey has had some impressive games in his career, but he might have outdone himself on Thursday night in Detroit. The kicker broke two NFL records against the Lions and he was one of the few bright spots for the Dallas Cowboys in a 44-30 loss at Ford Field.
At 6-6-1, the Cowboys lose head-to-head tiebreakers against the Lions, Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears. Dallas' best chance of making the postseason might be winning the NFC East, which would require Philadelphia (8-4) to falter.
The Lions move along with at 8-5, not comfortable with their playoff situation but feeling better about their chances. The Cowboys now have to win out to have any realistic chance, and even that might not be enough.
