Victor Wembanyama scores 37 of 40 in 1st half, leading Spurs to 136-108 win over short-handed Lakers
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Victor Wembanyama scored 37 of his season high-tying 40 points in the first half of the San Antonio Spurs' fifth straight victory, 136-108 over the short-handed Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.
When the Lakers opened their homestand with back-to-back wins over the 76ers and Warriors, giving them a three-game winning streak for the first time in a month, it looked like they were primed to head into the All-Star break with momentum on their side.
Wembanyama has continued to live up to expectations, but his coach wants him to be in the running for the MVP.
