Chicago-based fast food giant McDonald's announced that three locations of its spin-off, CosMc's, would be closing, while simultaneously announcing the opening of two other locations.

The smaller stores work better for the test, the company said Thursday. As a result, McDonald's will close three of its larger format CosMc's locations and open two more small Texas restaurants. The company didn't disclose the locations for either the openings or closures, although CosMc's website says a store is coming soon to Allen, Texas.

McDonald's has reportedly decided to end its partnership with NASCAR's Chicago Street Race, bringing its $2 million annual sponsorship to an end after just two years. The fast-food chain has been removed from the NASCAR Chicago website as a founding partner, making it seem that their alliance has come to a close.
