David Schwimmer recalled the time he served Rod Stewart with divorce papers while the ‘Friends’ star was a process server in his teens

During a recent appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," David Schwimmer shared he once served Rod Stewart with divorce papers as a teenager.

David Schwimmer had an encounter with legendary rocker Rod Stewart before his big 'Friends' days, but unfortunately it was not for a good reason.

David Schwimmer has looked at his previous career as a process server and remembered one of the more prominent interactions he had on the job.

“Rachel broke up with me on a Monday evening, and it was heartbreaking. No one leaves Rod!” Stewart told the outlet. “But that Saturday night, I met Penny at the Dorchester Hotel in London. The bass player in my band, Carmine, said, ‘Listen, you’ve just come out of a long nine-year marriage. You’re not ready yet.’ I nearly strangled him!”

The “Friends” alum previously worked as a process server during his college days, he revealed on Monday’s episode of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

Schwimmer, known for playing "three-divorces Ross" on legendary sitcom Friends, recalled an odd encounter with the British rock star as a teenager.

Schwimmer, best known for playing Ross Geller on the NBC sitcom, said in a new interview on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” that he once worked as a process server. That meant serving legal papers, including once giving divorce papers to a legendary singer.
