Waymo is temporarily removing autonomous vehicles from downtown Los Angeles after rioters set cars on fire during anti-ICE riots. It will still operate in other parts of the city.
According to Waymo’s website, its latest driverless cars have 29 external cameras, providing “a simultaneous 360° view around the vehicle,” as well as an unknown number of internal ones.
Waymo’s big advantage is that they have a working self-driving system, one that works in a variety of cities, and not only can you bet your life on it, 250,000 riders are doing so every week.
