The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has initiated a compliance review of the University of Maine following the State of Maine’s blatant disregard for President Trump’s Executive Order (EO) 14201 , Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports.

USDA notified the University of Maine System of the investigation in a letter addressed to the Office of Governor Janet Mills, Danell Malloy the Chancellor of the University of Maine System, and the Office of the Attorney General.

The inquiry is being conducted because of what the USDA describes as the state's "blatant disregard" of a recent executive order that targets transgender athletes.
