Two drones heading for RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus were intercepted on Monday, a Cypriot government spokesperson has said. It comes after a drone hit the British base overnight on Sunday with no casualties and "minimal damage". On Monday, employees received a message warning them of an "ongoing security threat" as sirens were reported in the area.
“Our force protection in the region is at the highest level and the base has responded to defend our people."
