Inter Miami manager Javier Mascherano said on Thursday it was "impossible" to even consider bringing Neymar to the club to link up with his former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez due to Major League Soccer's salary cap rules.

A reflective Luis Suarez said Inter Miami players have nobody to blame but themselves for their surprisingly early exit from the 2024 MLS playoffs, and they are eager to return to training camp this weekend to prepare for a jam-packed 2025 season.

Inter Miami manager Javier Mascherano dismissed the possibility of signing Neymar, citing Major League Soccer's salary cap. The Brazilian forward, currently with Saudi club Al-Hilal, expressed interest in reuniting with former Barcelona teammates Messi and Suarez.

The Brazilian has barely featured for Al Hilal since his $98 million move to Saudi Arabia but is still hopeful of appearing at the 2026 World Cup.

When Neymar told CNN it would be "incredible" to play with Messi and Suárez again, worldwide fans were given enough reasons to dream. This trio, dominant during its days at Barcelona, had won titles and defined an era with an incomparable rapport between the three in the pitch and out of it.
