BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) – Louisiana State Police is investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting in Ascension Parish. They were asked to look into the shooting by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office around 1 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10.

In an early morning incident, an Ascension Parish Sheriff's deputy shot someone who later died at the hospital. The Louisiana State Police are investigating.

Troopers have released new details about an officer-involved shooting that happened around 1 a.m. on Monday, February 10.According to Louisiana State Police, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies and a Gonzales Police Department officer located a vehicle that matched the description of one that was involved in an armed robbery in Gonzales.
