Toys "R" Us is opening a new store about a year after a planned relaunch of its brick-and-mortar presence failed.

They moved the Toyz store to the former Toys 'R' Us location, and continued operating. Then in 2021, out of nowhere, the family got a multi-page cease and desist letter from Toys 'R' Us' new owners.

But Toys "R" Us got a new lease on life last year thanks to Macy's partnership, when the two companies agreed to sell toys on Macy's website and opened shops-within-shops at 400 department stores.

Toys R Us has outlined its expansion strategy after sealing a deal to buy out one of its biggest competitors—landing in major shopping malls with its dual-retail model for the first time.
