Before the Mountaineers kicked off their game against the Red Raiders on Saturday, the crowd shared a moment of silence for the West Virginia National Guardsmen who were shot in D.C.

Velma was originally adopted from the Mobile SPCA and was in a home. Unfortunately, the resident dog did not get along with her. Our Pet of the Week is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu/Terrier-mix named Velma.
