KELLER, Texas — The Keller ISD Board spent part of Thursday night’s board meeting outlining the dire financial state of the district as the catalyst for its consideration of a possible split. Like other districts across the state, Keller ISD is contending with a budget deficit.

The Keller ISD school board tried to explain to a crowd full of parents and community members why it feels it needs to split in two. But it seems like it wasn't enough to convince the majority of people in attendance.

Students from various schools across the Keller ISD walked out on Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, to protest the potential school district split. Many students gathered near Timber Creek High following the walkout to make their voices heard.
