The official results of the general election may have been certified by the county’s Board of Elections Friday, but for 10 residents who thought they were casting their ballots correctly, the tally will not reflect their votes.

The Chatham County Board of Elections certified the “official and complete” results for the Nov. 5 election on Tuesday after ballot counting issues on election night. The board confirmed there was a record turnout of voters in Chatham this cycle,

Tuesday was the deadline for Georgia’s 159 counties to certify their votes. Georgia has until Nov. 23 to certify the state’s results.

By 5 p.m. Tuesday, all 159 counties in Georgia were to have certified their election results. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger applauded the counties at a press conference for their hard work to meet that deadline.
