July 17 - Von Miller is set to join the Washington Commanders on a one-year deal as part of a rebuilt defensive front. A three-time All-Pro, Miller shared the news with a visual -- wearing a No. 24 Commanders uniform -- on social media, but the move was not official as of Thursday morning.

The Washington Commanders made a significant pickup on Wednesday night, signing edge rusher Von Miller to a one-year deal. Miller was released earlier this offseason by the Buffalo Bills, with whom he spent the last three seasons after playing 9.

Von Miller is signing with the Washington Commanders, with the NFL’s active sacks leader joining the team roughly a week before training camp opens.

The Washington Commanders agreed to a one-year deal with pass rusher Von Miller, a league source told UPI on Thursday. His 129.5 sacks lead all active players.

Can Miller provide pass rush help? Dante Fowler was the only Commanders player to top 10 sacks last season, but he has since signed with the Dallas Cowboys. Washington did, however, sign Deatrich Wise, Javon Kinlaw and Jacob Martin as free agents to bolster the defensive line. Miller will now join that group.

Although Von Miller has attended three Super Bowls and won two of them (one with the Denver Broncos and one with the Los Angeles Rams), Buffalo Bills fans of all ages still remember that it just wasn't in the cards for them during his time in Orchard Park.

Simmons, 31, was released by the Broncos last year, and he spent the 2024 season with the Atlanta Falcons. He became a free agent this spring and is yet to sign with a club ahead of the 2025 campaign.
