Former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville was excited about the 2004 Tigers' new national title claim, and he wanted everyone to know it.

Auburn football will recognize seven additional national championships after changing the program's criteria, bringing the Tigers' total to nine.

In any event, and in my view, if doing best for Alabama is the objective, Tuberville should stay in the U.S. Senate. As America goes, Alabama goes. If America’s economy prospers (or declines), Alabama’s economy prospers (or declines).

Republicans who have grown angry at Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s blockade of military nominees had hoped that their new public pressure campaign would force the Alabama Republican to back down.
