Apple TV+ has shared the first images of Alexander Skarsgård in its upcoming sci-fi series, "Murderbot." Based on Martha Wells' Hugo and Nebula Award-winning book series "The Murderbot Diaries," the show follows a self-hacking security construct (Skarsgård) that finds itself simultaneously put off by human emotion and yet drawn to its clients in spite of that.

Murderbot debuts May 16 on Apple TV+. In addition to Skarsgård, the series also stars Noma Dumezweni, David Dastmalchian, Sabrina Wu, Akshay Khanna, Tattiawna Jones, and Tamara Podemski.

One of Apple’s next big sci-fi shows has a premiere date. The company announced that its adaptation of Murderbot, based on the novels by Martha Wells, will debut on Apple TV Plus with two episodes on May 16th.
