FRIDAY, Aug. 1, 2025 (HealthDay News) — Pro wrestling icon Hulk Hogan died of a heart attack, Florida officials confirmed Thursday. The 71-year-old entertainer, whose real name was Terry Gene Bollea, died last week in Clearwater, Florida.

A heart attack caused the death of pro wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, authorities said Thursday, a week after the larger-than-life entertainer passed away in Florida.

Hogan’s official cause of death is cited as “acute myocardial infarction” – which in layman’s terms means a heart attack – according to a cremation approval summary report from the medical examiner’s office in Pinellas County, Florida shared with CNN on Thursday.
