Demonstrators have taken to the streets across multiple states on Thursday to protest President Donald Trump’s Administration in a day of action honoring the late civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis, with more events planned across the country in the evening.
The volunteer-led 50501 movement — which stands for 50 protests in 50 states on 1 day — has organized several national peaceful protests since February. The group is responsible for the April 5 "Hands off!" demonstration and the June 14 "No Kings" protest.
The protest called "Good Trouble Lives On" is the latest national day of action, it also marks the five-year anniversary since the death of civil rights activist Congressman John Lewis. Those like Jerry Hendey, said he attended the protest in order to protest what the administration has been doing.
