A 25-year-old woman from Florida gave birth on a W train in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday morning. She had been missing since last summer, her sister said.

The train had just pulled into the Herald Square station when passengers notified the conductor that a woman had given birth.

The rider revealed new details about the episode, including a request from the mother to cut the umbilical cord with a pocket knife.
