Germany captain Giulia Gwinn has been ruled out of the rest of the Women’s European Championship with a knee injury.

Germany captain Giulia Gwinn will miss the remainder of Euro 2025 after suffering a medial cruciate ligament (MCL) injury in Germany's opening game.

Germany will without their influential captain Giulia Gwinn for the rest of women's Euro 2025 due to a left knee injury, which however is not as serious as initially feared. The national federation DFB on X said that an MRI scan in Zurich on Saturday revealed that Gwinn "suffered a medial collateral ligament injury to her left knee yesterday in the match against Poland.
