Saturday will be a First Alert Weather Day for foggy conditions in the morning and then snow later in the day.

Patchy fog is forecast in Denver this morning, followed by a chilly weekend, with up to a few inches of snow possible Saturday night.

The Kansas City area could be in for a tough wintry weekend, with freezing rain, snow and bitterly cold temperatures. But weather​ forecasters say there’s still lots of uncertainty about​ the exact timing. The area could see a heavy burst of snow on Friday, too.

Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings continue in the mountains through this evening before the snow gradually comes to an end.

Colorado’s mountains are forecast to welcome New Year’s Day with a round of snow. Light snow is expected to begin falling Wednesday afternoon and evening, becoming heavier overnight and into Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Snow is expected to fall across Colorado this weekend, prompting potentially record-breaking traffic in the mountains and more potential travel delays around the Denver metro.

An incoming system starts to drop snow across the state by Saturday. There is more potential for patchy dense fog to start the day Saturday, particularly north of Denver, before the snow arrives later in the day.
