China's CATL has announced a set of new incoming products, including a battery it claims has set a "new global record for superfast charging technology."

The world's largest EV battery company also teases two other jaw-dropping technologies, though it's unclear if US consumers will ever get to try them.

CATL has unveiled upgraded battery cells it claims can offer faster charging for electric vehicles than its rival BYD, putting the two Chinese groups ahead of competitors in the race to overcome a major barrier to the shift away from petrol vehicles.
